I do Massage Therapy because I value a community in which people are calm, healthy, and use preventative measures for their health.
About
myself
I moved my business from Hawaii to Boulder in 2011. Coming
from Hawaii, I integrate aspects of Lomi Lomi into my massage, using a variety of
long strokes and forearm massage. I also combine a variety of deep tissue, sports
massage and pressure point techniques with Swedish and Sports Massage to approach
the various needs of my clients.
I have been practicing massage for over 20 years and have experience with various
modalities. I allow ample time before the massage begins to consult the client about
their condition and communicate to understand what the client wants out of the
massage. I am also available to teach the client about their muscles, joints, and
bones and exercises they can do that may improve their condition.
As a runner, cyclist, skier, dancer, and writer, I know that outdoor activities and working at a desk can take a toll on our bodies. This personal experience helps me to understand, on a deeper level, how certain activities can affect your body, and how massage can relieve the stresses caused by such activities. About 50% of my clients are athletes who come in to recover from injury or improve their performance, while the rest come in for TMJ Syndrome massage, Stress and Anxiety relief, and simply relaxation.
(I am also an artist (paintings/photography). Please enjoy my work at weissoft.com/ArtByKira.com
