Massage Therapy - Promoting Community,Environment, & Individual Health

Preparing for your Massage Therapy Session

Massage treatments go beyond relaxation—they help relieve pain, boost circulation, and support overall wellness. Massage Therapy aids in recovery from injury and surgery, and it helps with stress and pain relief.

Prepare by arriving on time, staying hydrated, and avoiding heavy meals. Communicate your comfort level and goals with your therapist. You may undress to your level of comfort or wear comfortable clothing if you prefer or if you will do more stretching or movement during a session. (However, for basic sports massage, I will drape you for passive stretching.)

I also offer guided meditation during the massage to help you relax your mind to enhance results. Stay hydrated all day, and follow any care instructions to extend the benefits of your session and maintain your progress.

Intake Form

If you'd like, you may print and fill out this intake form before your visit. Reach out with any questions!

  • Intake Form (one page)
  • Intake Form (double sided: To be environmentally friendly, print double sided and bring the extra form for another client)

Pre-Pay (or gift certificate)

And feel free to pay in advance through Zelle of Venmo if you'd like to simply relax after your session. Just write "massage by Kira" in the memo.

To pay through Zelle, use 12mountains@gmail.com

Write 'Gift Certificate for (name of recipient)' in the memo if you would like to purchase a gift certificate.

Communicating Your Needs and Preferences

Clear communication improves your therapeutic benefit. I encourage you to share recent injuries, discomforts, and any goals for your session. Share your preferred level of pressure if you'd like firmer or lighter (or different) work. I am highly skilled at many modalities, and it is normal for different modalities to resonate more for different people. I can usually feel what works well for each person, but I want you to feel comfortable and empowered to speak up any time.

Post-Massage Self-Care

After your massage therapy session, you may feel sore. Drinking plenty of water and resting helps your body recover. Inquire about post-massage care, such as working hydration, postural and ergonomic habit shifts, and stretches that may support ongoing healing. Good aftercare habits improve the benefits of your massage and helps in maintaining your well-being.
